The Tenets of Islam IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE COMPASSIONATE, THE MERCIFUL INTRODUCTION All praise is due to Allah, the Lord and the Cherisher of the Universe. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved prophet, Muhammad (PBUH), his household, companions and the followers of the right guidance till the Day of Judgment.Many people judge an ideology/religion by studying the practices of its adherents, this may be misleading. It is better to study the book/scripture of the ideology/religion in order to have a fear evaluation because not many adherents of an ideology/religion strictly follow the teachings of the ideology/religion. This is unfortunate but it is the reality. In the Holy Qur'an, Allah, the Exalted, warns Muslims to be careful and not follow people blindly: "When it is said to them: "Follow what Allah hath revealed" they say: "Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers." What! Even though their fathers were void of wisdom and guidance?" Q2:170. "Were you to follow the common run of those on earth they will lead thee away from the Way of Allah." They follow nothing but conjecture: they do nothing but lie. Thy Lord knows best who strays from His Way. He knows best who they are that receive His guidance." Q6:116, 117. In an hadith Qudsi, Allah says: "Search for knowledge about Me before you worship Me for how will he worship Me he that does not know (have knowledge of) Me" In the Holy Qur'an Allah says: "He (Allah) grants wisdom to whom He pleases; and he to whom wisdom is granted receives indeed a benefit overflowing; but none will grasp the message but men of UNDERSTANDING" Q2:269. "Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knows best who have strayed from His Path and who receive guidance." Q16:125 For those who are 'do as I say and not as I do' type, the Holy Qur'an says: "Do you enjoin right conduct on the people and forget (to practice it) yourselves and yet you study the Scripture? Have you no sense?" Q2:44. And Allah, the most merciful calls on everybody: "Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful. "Turn you to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to His (Will) before the Penalty comes on you: after that you shall not be helped. "And follow the Best of (the courses) revealed to you from your Lord before the Penalty comes on you of a sudden while you perceive not!-- "Lest the soul should (then) say: Ah! Woe is me! In that I neglected (my duty) towards Allah and was but among those who mocked! "Or (lest) it should say: `If only Allah had guided me I should certainly have been among the righteous!' "Or (lest) it should say when it (actually) sees the Penalty: `If only I had another chance I should certainly be among those who do good!' "(The reply will be) `Nay but there came to thee My signs and thou did reject them: thou was haughty and became one of those who reject Faith!" Q39:53-59. This and the subsequence writing are intended to remind the Muslims about their religion and enlighten our non-Muslims friends about Islam and what it has for mankind.
